Imagery holds the power to tell a story.
It offer insight into different areas of life—a power that has inspired Malaysian photographer Kah since childhood. From a young age, drawing allowed Wan to explore his creative vision, but it was photography that captivated him after taking a high school course where he discovered the speed of creation it offered. Wan’s appreciation for the medium of photography intensified with each new approach he learned, from working with film and darkroom development to the portrait photography he would eventually specialize in.
Today, Kah’s photography blends artful elements to yield his style of portraiture. While his subject can range from portrait to street photography, Wan’s approach to portraiture consistently captures the subtle reality of a moment. Believing the human face can tell a full story without words, Wan’s photography sets the stage for those stories to come alive. Pulling from his background in graphic design, Wan employs a meticulous and creative approach to portraiture, defining his body of work.
Kah lives and works in New York City.
